Understand what you already have.

An Investors Trust plan review should account for the actual product type, premium commitment, policy duration and any applicable guarantees or restrictions.

What to have ready

A recent policy valuation, original schedule and any fee or fund statements you have. Never share login passwords.

A plan-specific discussion

Not all policies are the same.

Any options discussed must be checked against your own policy documentation.

Investors Trust policy questions

What should you check before changing anything?

Investors Trust has offered different policy designs, so a review of a regular savings contract will not necessarily follow the same approach as an investment bond. Any guarantee should be assessed against its exact conditions rather than described as a universal feature.

Does the plan have a premium commitment?

Identify the contribution schedule and how missed, reduced or additional premiums are treated by your particular product.

What are the policy and fund charges?

Separate contractual charges from underlying investment costs when reviewing the net result.

Are there guarantees or restrictions?

Read any relevant guarantee, maturity, surrender and withdrawal provisions directly from the policy documents.

Documents that make a review more useful

Policy schedule, current valuation, premium history, fund statement and any product-specific guarantee addendum.

You can read our guide to understanding a policy valuation before sharing a statement.

Is every Investors Trust policy a pension plan?

No. The exact product and purpose need to be confirmed before applying retirement or pension-specific assumptions.

Frequently asked

Before you make a decision.

Can my existing plan be reviewed without closing it?

Often, yes. Reviewing the documents, valuation, charges and holdings does not require terminating a plan. Available servicing options depend on your provider and policy.

Does changing an adviser mean changing the investment provider?

Not necessarily. Adviser servicing arrangements and transferring or surrendering a policy are different actions. The provider’s rules and account conditions determine what is possible.

Can you tell me exactly how much my plan costs?

Only once the precise product, issue date, policy terms and relevant statements are known. Generic fees shown online might not apply to your contract.

Are you part of the providers mentioned on this website?

Provider names describe the plans that visitors may already hold. This website is not an official provider portal and does not imply an endorsement by any provider.
